Directory submission is one of the most important things to do for a new site today. I’d recommend you to buy submissions because paid directories are promoted heavily. They are well crawled, have hundreds of pages indexed and most of the inner categories have PR.
There are free directories available too. Submitting to half of them is probably not worth your time, because the link isn’t on a strong page, and chances are that Google won’t ever notice them. Some free directories though are pretty powerful. And ultimately, because the link is a free one, it doesn’t hurt to submit your site right ?? 
You can obtain a list of free directories from the following sites. The list is sure to keep directory submitters busy for a while. Most of the experienced members will already know these sites, although it won’t hurt to check whether they have submitted to all the directories in the list .
