I’ve seen this question asked by plenty of newbie webmasters. I do not claim to be an expert on the subject, but this is an answer that every webmaster worth his salt should be able to answer.
Is Google case sensitive ?
The answer, very simply, is a big NO.
You could search for a word with all capitals, all small letters, a mixture of small and capital letters and they would all return the same result.
Let us take a look at a few examples
Let us take the keyword Google itself-
Google- 1,690,000,000 results
GOOGLE- 1,690,000,000 results
gOOgLE- 1,690,000,000 results
If you want to hear it from the horse’s mouth, here you go.
Google searches are NOT case sensitive. All letters, regardless of how you type them, will be understood as lower case. For example, searches for george washington, George Washington, and gEoRgE wAsHiNgToN will all return the same results.
Taken from Google Help.
If you do see differences, it may be due to the fact that the data is pulled from different data centres. However, the sites on the first page will definitely be the same.
