There may be plenty of talk going around about whether or not it will accept Microsoft’s deal, but internet giant Yahoo has just expanded by announcing that it will acquire web analytics firm IndexTools.

IndexTools was founded in 2000, and counts Tesco, Hostway and Epson amongst its clients, according to its website. It has offices in New York, Budapest and Frankfurt.

Yahoo’s acquisition will help it improve its position in its fight against Google in the online advertising race.

In other news,  Microsoft are reportedly holding talks with News Corp to thwart AOL’s plans of acquiring Yahoo.  One possible scenario being envisaged is a joint bid tabled by Microsoft and News Corp for Yahoo.
