The Revolution Theme by Brian Gardner, one of the best premium Wordpress themes out there, if not the best, is going open source from 1st of October 2008.
Gardner will team up with Jason Schuller ( Of Wp-elements.com) for the upcoming revolution project. All future and present themes will be released under the GPL License. The decision comes after Gardner and Schuller met Matt Mullenweg and Toni Schneider in San Francisco recently.
Gardner initially labelled the Revolution theme Project X, and released it in August 2007. It took the wordpress theme world by storm, and became so successful that Gardner even launched his own affiliate program for the theme.
The theme currently costs $59.99 for a single user license and $149.95 for a multiple user license. Gardner has 10 Revolution themes, all of which can be seen on the official website.
There will be options to purchase customization, tutorials and support though.

I’ve used Brian’s Revolution Themes on most of my sites and had some good success. However, I’ve recently heard that the basic html code is pretty poor from a SEO point of view. Does anyone have any comments on this?
